Quality & certifications

Three inspection gates, in-house and accredited testing, and certifications that are independently audited and regularly renewed.

Approach

Checked three times, not signed off once.

Material is cleared before it enters the furnace, chemistry and hardness are verified while the job runs, and nothing is despatched until the final pack is complete.

Stage I

Raw material inspection

Incoming scrap, ferro-alloys and consumables are verified against specification before release to the melting deck.

Stage II

In-process inspection

Chemical composition, as-cast hardness and visual inspection while the job is live, so a deviation is caught at the furnace rather than at your gate.

Stage III

Final inspection

Composition for all pouring heats, dimensional layout, NDT, mechanical properties, micro structure, pull test, drop test and weight tolerance.

Accreditations

Certifications.

Select a seal for scope, issuing body and validity. Copies go to customers on request.

Customer and third-party approvals

We hold vendor approvals from cement, mining and railway OEMs, and routinely work under third-party inspection (Lloyd's, SGS, BV, TUV and customer-nominated agencies). Tell us the regime at enquiry stage and we will build it into the order and the price.

Testing

What we measure.

Scope is agreed at order stage. The checks below are available in-house or through approved external laboratories.

  • Test: Chemical composition
    StagePre-tap and final
What it confirmsGrade conformity, verified on every pouring heat
  • Test: Hardness
    StageIn-process and final
What it confirmsThat the heat treatment cycle achieved the intended structure
  • Test: Tensile, yield, elongation
    StageFinal
What it confirmsMechanical properties against the specified grade
  • Test: Impact / toughness
    StageFinal, on request
What it confirmsResistance to shock loading in service
  • Test: Micro structure
    StageFinal
What it confirmsAustenite retention, absence of carbide networks
  • Test: Radiography
    StageWhere specified
What it confirmsInternal soundness (shrinkage, porosity, inclusions)
  • Test: Ultrasonic testing
    StageWhere specified
What it confirmsSub-surface discontinuities in heavy sections
  • Test: Dye penetrant / MPI
    StageOn request
What it confirmsSurface and near-surface indications
  • Test: Pull and drop test
    StageFinal
What it confirmsLoad-bearing integrity and impact survivability
  • Test: Dimensional layout
    StageFinal
What it confirmsConformity to drawing including machining allowance

Documentation

Paperwork that travels with the casting.

Every consignment ships with records your inspection team can accept without a repeat test, and that let you trace a casting back to its heat years later.

  • Heat-wise chemical analysis report
  • Mechanical test certificate
  • Heat treatment chart with the recorded temperature profile
  • NDT reports where radiography or ultrasonics are specified
  • Dimensional inspection report against the approved drawing
  • Material test certificate and despatch clearance note

Send a drawing. We will tell you if it suits our plant.

Give us the part, the grade and the annual volume. You get feasibility, a grade recommendation where you need one, a price and a lead time you can plan around.
